Feelin’ Velvet

I’ve never tried the boyfriend trend (boyfriend jeans, boyfriend blazer or button up) …until this jacket. There isn’t a particular reason why but I’ve seen some bloggers pull it off quite well. I’d like to think of boyfriend clothes as something I cuddle up and sleep in. Though this jacket changed that. This piece is perfect for office wear, a great twist on the traditional blazer. I purchased it from Express, in which I rarely shopped until a few months ago because of the Petite Sizes addition.

I would definitely wear it for holiday parties. Here, I paired it with this dotted blouse from Banana republic. Both have subtle character but work really well together.

And of course orange is a must for Fall. Every time I pair orange and black, I can’t help but think it’s Halloween all over again.

I know I’m late to the game with this boyfriend trend but I love it with this velvet jacket. I plan to try boyfriend jeans next. I’m very much into tailored pieces for the sake of my small frame, so something that’s supposed to be worn over sized is a challenge. But stay tuned and you may just see something new fall into my wardrobe.

Dots – Undone // Banana Republic

Banana Republic has done it again! I usually find myself scrolling pass the trousers section because their 00P are still big on my extra petite frame, but these were a head turner and more. They’re definitely a classic piece and so summery. I can see myself wearing these for many summers to come.

As I previously mentioned about their sizes, these trousers ran bigger than what their petite guide lists. And by “bigger”, the waist in these trousers were 3 inches wider. Since I loved them so much, I had them tailored to my normal 24″. I kept the hem as is because I choose to wear heels with them. But I am actually thinking of buying another pair just so I can have it hemmed to wear with flats. Decisions … Decisions ..

Since I purchased these on a deal, I had them tailored and the sale price + the tailor’s price, came out to the pant’s original cost. So in all, this was a great buy. I may wait for another deal though for that second pair.
What’s your take? Would you buy a second pair you LOVE to wear with flats on occasions like this? Comment below and let me know! ūüôā
Thank you for visiting! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

This year I participated in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (with just about every fashion lover under the sun) and bought these Halogen over the knee boots (one of the few purchases I made). And here I am wearing them for the first time since the purchase. I was waiting on a great piece to start it off with and this body skimming dress did wonders.
I love over the knee boots and the fact that they conceal more leg and let a sweater dress (or any mini skirt/dress) sit a little higher, giving you the feel of sexy without over revealing.

I hope everyone’s November started out great! A few more weeks and it’ll be feast day. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Classic Move

Camel is the perfect go to color for any season, but especially for Fall. It has that touch of warmth and is a wardrobe staple. It pairs well with many things, adding classy to an understated outfit or can tone down a colorful piece. The look I have here is to help lengthen my small frame. Standing at only 5 feet, pieces in the same color family or a monochromatic outfit can elongate you.

While the¬†temp is playing coy, I’m standing here, not sure when the right time is¬†to slip into a coat. Fall seems to always just sneak on by without a word and then Winter hits. There¬†is never¬†enough time to enjoy my trench¬†jackets and¬†Autumnal coats.
I do hope it stays long enough this year for the leaves to live in their colors. Thanks so much for reading! You can shop this look below, just click on the links.

last days …

These heels are to die for! I’m in love with the neutral tones and the chunky heel, making it comfortable for longer wear. Banana Republic never seems to fail in their shoe department. And this season I’ve purchased two already from them. This wrap around sandal heel and these beauties in this blog post.

Even though Summer may be playing hide and seek, I’m really just ready for Fall to happen now! And there’s nothing better than Fall fashion, therefore I’m slowly transitioning with suede and navy (one of the trends this season, even though navy is a staple color in my wardrobe year round).
Until then, I hope your season transition is going great, see you in the next outfit post. Thanks so much for reading!
