Mini & Pink

I can’t get enough of this pink trench!! Though this color may be trendy, I’ve been able to wear it through last season and this. And of course it’ll fit in with Spring. I paired it here with a mini houndstooth skirt. I overlooked the idea of pink and black paired, forgetting that they work so well together.

After I purchased this coat, this color pairing has become one of my favorites. I believe it’s because pink is such a bright feminine color while black and white are more subdued.

What’s your favorite colors to pair together? I also like purple and yellow  or pastels. And I’m quite excited for the Christmas because jewel tones will come out to play. The nostalgia of childhood memories is strong when anyone talks Christmas. Funny how I’ve completely jumped over Halloween and Thanksgiving. Two other fun holidays, but they just don’t quite live up to the lights, a winter wonderland and a warm fireplace.
Thanks for reading and Happy Friday Friends!

Dots – Undone // Banana Republic

Banana Republic has done it again! I usually find myself scrolling pass the trousers section because their 00P are still big on my extra petite frame, but these were a head turner and more. They’re definitely a classic piece and so summery. I can see myself wearing these for many summers to come.

As I previously mentioned about their sizes, these trousers ran bigger than what their petite guide lists. And by “bigger”, the waist in these trousers were 3 inches wider. Since I loved them so much, I had them tailored to my normal 24″. I kept the hem as is because I choose to wear heels with them. But I am actually thinking of buying another pair just so I can have it hemmed to wear with flats. Decisions … Decisions ..

Since I purchased these on a deal, I had them tailored and the sale price + the tailor’s price, came out to the pant’s original cost. So in all, this was a great buy. I may wait for another deal though for that second pair.
What’s your take? Would you buy a second pair you LOVE to wear with flats on occasions like this? Comment below and let me know! 🙂
Thank you for visiting! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

..of grey skies & gold..

This year I participated in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (with just about every fashion lover under the sun) and bought these Halogen over the knee boots (one of the few purchases I made). And here I am wearing them for the first time since the purchase. I was waiting on a great piece to start it off with and this body skimming dress did wonders.
I love over the knee boots and the fact that they conceal more leg and let a sweater dress (or any mini skirt/dress) sit a little higher, giving you the feel of sexy without over revealing.

I hope everyone’s November started out great! A few more weeks and it’ll be feast day. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Can I just say that red lips are always in?! At least in my world they are. So much so that wearing them on this cute little sweater might deem me as obsessive. But that’s ok because like Elizabeth Taylor said, ” …put on some lipstick (red of course) and pull yourself together.”
I love the idea of a feminine outfit but not so pulled together sometimes, so I wore these faux leather pants to toughen up the look. But because black is a color staple in my wardrobe, you’ll never not see me without it somewhere within my look of the day.
Here the sun was in the midst of setting, hence the intense glowing skin. But let’s really take a moment to enjoy the wall, it’s quite picturesque.

pleats & high grace

Trumpet sleeves have been around but for this trend to resurface in Fall of 2016 is so great! H&M did good with this top. It’s got a romance and ethereal feel. Another thing I love about this blouse is how versatile it will become in the seasons to follow. It’s got a neutral color, which will make pairing it with other pieces easy.

What really drew me to this trend was the memory it brought back. When I was in middle school, I owned this trumpet sleeve top with colors of a burnt sunset. I absolutely loved it and still have pictures. Granted, the sleeve has evolved much here with small pleats, giving it elegance.

If Grace Kelly were here today, she would would be absolutely breathtaking in this. It definitely screams Modern Victorian.
