Falling for FALL

Gloomy days call for a pop of something and so this red leather jacket came out to play. I’m really happy with this purchase because of the fit and feel and the price was great! And you can see it all over the blogsphere of other bloggers wearing it over-sized but I don’t think it works with my frame.

Zara did an amazing job in their outerwear department this season. They have other colors as well and I’m really interested in the army green and mustard leather jackets. Those colors would definitely be perfect for Fall and Winter.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Stay tuned for more cold weather outfits. I can’t wait for a full bloom of Fall colors to arrive!

Pink & The Osceola Train

Can we just take a moment to adore the color of this trench coat?! Ahhh…. I literally squealed upon seeing this on ASOS. I was looking for a pink coat to wear in Fall and not all the clothing sites I had encountered carried the correct petite size. Or one that wouldn’t cost me more to have it tailored . And I actually went on ASOS a couple times before I found this one.
I’ve purchased petite clothing from ASOS in the past, but not outerwear. And I will say it runs true to size. The sleeves hit right at the wrist and the length does not overwhelm my petite frame. I am 5’1″ and the coat length is 32 inches. I absolutely would look into ASOS coats/jackets if you want to update your outerwear wardrobe and you are petite like I am.

It’s definitely befitting for a train ride too. We went to Osceola, Wisconsin and this was my first short travel by train. It was a 20 mile tour along Osceola & the St. Croix river. I should’ve waited a few more weeks for all the leaves to turn their colors but that thought strayed later on.

But my boyfriend and I have been looking into states neighboring our home state or near by that we could further explore. We thought maybe because we’re still growing our international travel fund, we could journey close to home.  Of course that costs some, but it doesn’t break into our other fund. And so as the first place, we found this train depot. I loved the experience of a classic train ride. And the color inside very much reminded me of something from the 1950’s. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you Osceola!

cozy knit // luxe

This color scheme has been my go to lately because it’s such refreshing colors in a sea of dark for this season. And I, of course, couldn’t go without dressing up the handbag with some fur for a luxe look. I’m quite sad that most leaves have now gone. They weren’t here for very long and now winter is coming.
Nonetheless, I hope everyone had a good weekend. It’s been a long one for me. But I’m most excited for the weather to get a little colder so I can start pulling out more sweaters and cute cozy coats. Thanks so much for stopping by!

..of grey skies & gold..

This year I participated in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (with just about every fashion lover under the sun) and bought these Halogen over the knee boots (one of the few purchases I made). And here I am wearing them for the first time since the purchase. I was waiting on a great piece to start it off with and this body skimming dress did wonders.
I love over the knee boots and the fact that they conceal more leg and let a sweater dress (or any mini skirt/dress) sit a little higher, giving you the feel of sexy without over revealing.

I hope everyone’s November started out great! A few more weeks and it’ll be feast day. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

laced in dusk

It’s been fall for the last month and I’m just now sporting the leather jacket, an ideal piece for this season. And how perfect that this skirt just compliments the dusky sky. This was quite the fitting outfit to end the week.
But it has been a long one especially with some personal loss that’s happened. Now it’s time to enjoy the last of October and onto giving thanks.

Let’s take a moment to take in this leopard beret … it’s so perfect. I find it funny when leopard print is announced as “fall trend” every time this season comes around. It’s a staple and can be worn year round. And it especially pops against red as I have it paired here.

To keep the the outfit aligned, I pulled out my Micheal Kors oversized clutch in the color luggage. But what I love is draping a jacket in this way, just above the shoulders. It adds a cool factor and is another way to wear one.

And yet another week of fall is gone. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I definitely couldn’t start the week without another beret outfit. Thanks so much for reading!

pleats & high grace

Trumpet sleeves have been around but for this trend to resurface in Fall of 2016 is so great! H&M did good with this top. It’s got a romance and ethereal feel. Another thing I love about this blouse is how versatile it will become in the seasons to follow. It’s got a neutral color, which will make pairing it with other pieces easy.

What really drew me to this trend was the memory it brought back. When I was in middle school, I owned this trumpet sleeve top with colors of a burnt sunset. I absolutely loved it and still have pictures. Granted, the sleeve has evolved much here with small pleats, giving it elegance.

If Grace Kelly were here today, she would would be absolutely breathtaking in this. It definitely screams Modern Victorian.
Thanks so much for reading! See you in the next post.
