Iconic Coat

IMG_8665-2

..I can’t enough of my current favorite coats right now! It’s beginning to warm up but not fast enough, which allows me to enjoy my favorite spring piece. In honor of this year’s late spring bloom and the semi cold breeze, I’ve paired this jacket with a leopard knit. The two compliment each other very well I think.

Now, are the reoccurring pinks screaming louder? It’s been present in coats, handbags and dancing on my lips in the past few posts, but all for a good reason. It’s so versatile and  I can’t get enough of the pastel hue, like on this darling handbag (a Chloe dupe).

Ohhh Spring … I’m always in awe of all the blooms as I’m sure every floral loving fiend is as well. Though they are flowers I’ve seen before, the beauty never ceases to amaze me.
What is that one piece you find yourself wearing season after season because of it’s iconic stature?

Spring’s Gingham & Pastel Trend

_MG_8856

It’s definitely not new news when Spring is around the corner and pastel colors are coming out to play. I’ve seen lots of it hit the runway for Spring 2018 and which has been labeled ice cream pastel hues. And you just don’t say no to these sweet treats .. ever. But aside from dessert talk, I almost find these hues to be a closet staple. Granted, not all of these colors work for four seasons, but this pastel pink fits right in.

_MG_8853_MG_8929_MG_8866

With this pretty pink I’ve paired it with another spring trend, gingham. I see this print pop up every year and I don’t disagree. It’s a closet staple in my humble opinion and it works well as a statement piece when you put it together with a simple, chic outfit.

And sometimes, you compliment the bag with red lips. I’m always pulled into the 50’s when red and gingham are placed next to each other. The retro vibes are flying high!
What are your thoughts on 2018’s Spring Trends?

Trench Coats for Spring :: Classics and Laced

IMG_8596

It’s been a whirlwind of two seasons coming and going this month. For a week we had wonderful weather here in the mid-west and it was such a good feeling! So I brought out this beautiful trench coat from ASOS and I seriously did not want to take it off. In the duration of this nice weather, I went in between three different trench coats … well, because Spring screams trench coat weather.

IMG_8613

This blush colored one is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been coveting the designer ones (Sacai &  Burberry Prorsum) but I couldn’t justify spending $$$ on a such luxe pieces. So when I came upon this one on ASOS and saw the price tag, I dropped it into my basket quick and it made it’s made permanent home in my wardrobe.
The second trench coat I brought out this Spring is by J. Crew. Their Iconic Trench is second to none. I’ve had a total of 7 trench coats in the last 8 years and this one by J. Crew has been the best one.  Granted, I’ve only had it one year, but it’s made from such grand material that it’ll be shown so much love with lots of wear.

IMG_8585IMG_8566

The third trench coat … drum roll … is also from J. Crew. It’s identical to their iconic trench coat that I mentioned above but has navy stripes on the bodice and mid sleeves. J. Crew has many great classic pieces and the prices are a bargain when you run into a sale they are promoting. These are the times I stock up on outerwear, jewelry and wardrobe staples.
What have you reached for time and time again this Spring?

Spring :: Kate Spade & Cult Gaia Ark (dupe)

_MG_8370

I finally got my hands on the the Cult Gaia Ark … dupe and I LOVE IT so much! It was highly coveted last year and even this year and honestly, I don’t know why I waited. I wanted a Spring/Summer bag that I would put to use for the majority of the warmer months and this bag definitely fits the mold and more! The original one runs 150.00 (for the small) and 170.00 (for the large) but I wasn’t sure a ‘wooden bag’ was something that I would keep in wardrobe for years to come. So I purchased the small size (dimensions are : 11 in height x 10 in length x 3 in depth) from Amazon. And it cost me four times less then it would have which is great!

_MG_8433_MG_8414

For such a summery bag, I paired it with this shirt dress from Express (petite). The long sleeves are perfect the cooler months of Spring, but the fabric is so lightweight that it can be worn into Summer too.

IMG_8173_MG_8392_MG_8441_MG_8427

And of course, my favorite Spring buy are these mule slides from Kate Spade. When these first came out back in 2017, they were running at 298.00 and I couldn’t justify spending so much for a pair of shoes. I do believe in quality over quantity but I find it hard to pull that rule card out for shoes because they get worn and tethered a lot quicker than any other piece of material item I wear. So I kept it in my “to buy” list until the beginning of February this year and went through with the purchase .. on Amazon .. again. But instead of paying 298.00, I bought them for 80.00, which is a justifiable price to me.
What are your great Spring purchase(s) of 2018?

POP of Pink

IMG_7392

It’s definitely obvious that pink is HUGE in my wardrobe for Spring this year. It could definitely pass for a neutral now that I think about it. It’s just refreshing to see pastels come into light as opposed to all the dark colors I’ve been wearing for the past few months. Perhaps I should work on adding prints into my closet now to increase variety.

Shopping for the warmer months is never ending for me. I tell myself all the time that “I really only need this one piece and my wardrobe will be complete for the season” ….. just to find myself with a couple new pieces a  week or two later. This Spring has my pocket books emptying so fast. LOL. Now that it’s creeping it’s way over, I cannot wait to share what I’ve purchased!
Like the skirt in this post. I bought it two months back and have been waiting to wear it. The snow takes an incredibly long time to melt because the temperatures stay so steady .. and then we get hit again (twice to be exact) with heavy snow. So I hung it back up until the cold settled. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays away for good now.

Blue Blossoms & Tweed

_MG_7708 copy

HELLO LOVES! It’s been a while since I’ve shared a post. I’ve been caught up in trying to figure out some personal things for which I do apologize! But the good news is, I believe the snow is gone for good this time. It’s been raining instead but I would choose that any day.
Now on to a more relevant topic, I am ecstatic to say that my spring wardrobe can come out to play now. In the last couple months, I’ve been trying to add more color to my closet. A reason being that I have so many classic pieces but I wanted a pattern, print or pop of color from time to time to add interest.

_MG_7679 copy

Here I have a floral scarf, which by the way is the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen for such a bargain price too. And to note, this scarf is filled with peony print, my favorite blossom. It’s definitely going to be a part of my wardrobe forever.
I paired it with this tweed cross body for which both lie in complimentary color schemes.

_MG_7674 copy

And of course I kept the rest of my outfit to a minimum. This off the shoulder trend is taking my closet by storm. It’s popular for a reason because you can dress it up or down.

I’m excited to wear this top many ways, one being with flare denim bottoms. It’ll be like channeling something from the 70’s. Or with high-waist color bottoms. Which ever way, stay tuned friends.
Thanks so much for reading!!
